Absorptive Silencer Type ACB / ACA

Application

Medium to high frequency noise reduction at lowpressure drop for:
Suction and discharge for centrifugal compressors and blowers Intakes and exhaust for gas turbines Upstream and downstream of pressure reduction valves Suction for engines Its normal pressure drop is 0.1-0.5kPa

Design

Gas flows through an annular passage lined with perforated tubes backed by multiple layers of sound absorbing materials.

 

Snubber Type BEO / BMA / BMI

Application

Low to medium frequency noise reduction for: Intake and exhaust of reciprocating engines Discharge for rotary blowers and vacuum pumps Exhaust for reciprocating engines in marine use Its normal pressure drop is 0.5-2kPa.

Design

Gas flows through an arrangement of ported tubes and chambers which attenuate the noise over a wide frequency range.

 

Diffuser / Absorptive Silencer Type TH

Application

Vent and blowdown of air, steam and gas to atmosphere for:
Safety valves Station and pipeline blowdown valves Process control valves Turbine, compressor and blower bypass Boiler start-up purge systems Steam ejector Its normal pressure drop is 10-50kPa.

Design

Two or more step noise treatment, with each step accomplishing a diffusion and smoothing of the flow, and an overall reduction of noise.
The first stage diffuser provides
A sturdy shock absorbing section.
A transformation of low frequencies to medium or high frequency range.
The additional stages moderate and smooth the flow while absorbing soundenergy.

 

Throttle Silencer Type TH

Application

- Safety valves
- Process control valves
- Turbine compressor and blower bypass valves
- Boiler start-up purge systems

Design

Similar principle of operation as the SDA type. Used for less stringent noise reduction requirements, very compact in size and weight.
